# UK bird populations fall to lowest level on record, survey finds

A new survey shows British bird populations have dropped to their lowest level since records began, with steep declines across farmland, woodland and urban species. Conservationists called the findings "shocking and sobering," blaming habitat loss, intensive agriculture and climate change. The figures add pressure on the UK government to meet its legally binding targets to halt nature's decline by 2030.
