# Chainalysis confirms breach of internal tools, customer identity data exposed

The company says it has contained the intrusion and is notifying affected customers. Chainalysis serves banks, crypto exchanges and law enforcement agencies, so exposure of client data could aid targeted phishing or impersonation attacks.
