# Uganda imposes 21-day Ebola quarantine on citizens returning from DR Congo

Uganda has ordered a 21-day quarantine for citizens returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo as it tries to prevent Ebola from crossing the border. The measure affects travelers from a country that has repeatedly experienced Ebola outbreaks and shares a long, porous border with Uganda. It matters because border controls and quarantine can slow regional spread but may also disrupt trade and travel.
