# Red Rising Movie in Development at Paramount, Francis Lawrence to Direct

Paramount is developing a film adaptation of Pierce Brown's sci-fi novel "Red Rising," with Francis Lawrence, director of the "Hunger Games" films, attached to helm. The book, the first in a bestselling series, follows a low-caste miner who infiltrates the ruling elite on a future Mars. A major studio bet on a beloved sci-fi saga signals continued appetite for young-adult and dystopian franchise adaptations.
