# Guest Column Pays Tribute to Character Actor Richard Riehle

Variety ran a guest column honoring Richard Riehle, the prolific character actor best known as office-space boss Tom Smykowski in "Office Space." The piece argues Riehle embodied the "actor's actor" — a steady, widely recognized presence across hundreds of film and TV roles rather than a marquee name. It amounts to an industry appreciation rather than breaking news, with no wider impact beyond Hollywood and film fans.
