# X open-sources ranking algorithm to reveal shadowban status

X (formerly Twitter) has made its rankings algorithm publicly available, letting users check whether their posts are being suppressed. The move is intended to increase transparency around content moderation and ranking decisions. This matters because users can now see firsthand if they have been shadowbanned and better understand how the platform drives visibility.

**Importance:** 4/5
